How Disadvantaged Children Live
Children from low-income families also tend to have poorer health, perform less well academically, and have fewer opportunities in life. Socially and emotionally, they have less self-confidence and are less happy with their lives. They are also more likely to have health problems. Difficulties in reducing socioeconomic inequities in child well-being results stem from the fact that children from impoverished backgrounds often grow up in worse home, school, and community settings. It's our mission to improve the quality of these children, so they can have a great future.
